Early childhood education has been widely recognized by educational and psychological researchers as a cornerstone for a child’s future success. With the rapid advancement of knowledge, it’s questionable whether the skills and knowledge we equip children with today are sufficient to face a future filled with uncertainties and constant change. So, what will help individuals stay adaptable to future changes?

At Little People, we believe that the role of a kindergarten is to cultivate the foundational qualities of an individual who knows how to live a good life, a civilized life, always carrying positive values in both life and learning. As a preparation for the following academic years, children at this age need to develop a passion for exploration and self-confidence to be ready for future intellectual adventures. Based on this belief, we have discovered and been drawn to the “Active Learning” educational approach from the HighScope Foundation, USA.

Raising young children is a challenging task, requiring teachers to be equipped with sufficient knowledge and practical experience in various fields such as psychology, brain development, pedagogy, and childcare skills, which not all teachers can accumulate in a short time. Therefore, the professional support from the HighScope team is extremely effective and practical with abundant strategies and resources that help teachers easily implement the educational approach proposed by HighScope. Another advantage of the HighScope Preschool Program is that the “Active Learning” classroom model does not require any extravagant material investment. Children learn to work with open-ended materials, readily available tools, and find ways to overcome challenges when resources are limited, creatively finding substitutes to complete their initial ideas without giving up.
